Jonathan Club and Fitness by the Sea are once again teaming up to create a camp experience like no other.

By combining the vision and values of the Jonathan Club with the fun and excitement of Fitness by the Sea, JC Beach Camp creates the perfect environment for young Jonathans and their guests to embark on new adventures daily while creating memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Founded in 2000, Fitness by the Sea has become synonymous with excellence in the field of day camps.

The FBS formula for success blends an experienced and spirited staff with dynamic and creative activities, offered in an encouraging and nurturing environment.

At JC Beach Camp there is an emphasis on friendship, fun, and personal growth for all of our campers.

How to Enroll

Safety – Our #1 Concern

As with the other Fitness by the Sea camp locations, safety is always our #1 concern.

  • Older Staff – The average age of our staff is 26 and many are teachers or parents themselves.
  • All Staff are CPR and First Aid Certified
  • 6 to 1 Camper to Staff Ratio – Lower ratios are offered for activities such as surfing (3 to 1) and paddling (2 to 1)
  • Water Safety – Counselors are placed directly in the water with the kids and professional lifeguards are on site.
  • Sunscreen – Reapplied throughout the day
  • Water and Shade Constantly Available

JC Beach Camp offers all of the same high-quality activities and variety as the other Fitness by the Sea locations, but does so within the secure and private Club environment.

At JC Beach Camp we offer new and unique activities every day.

Santa Monica kids camp activities

Water Activities: including swimming, surfing, boogie boarding

Team Sports: including soccer, flag football, baseball, volleyball

Specialized Activities: including gymnastics, cheerleading, martial arts

Performing and Visual Arts: including crafts, dance, magic, puppets

2020 Dates & Rates

Sign-Up by the Day!
We are excited to announce the introduction of our new, more flexible scheduling options.

You may now choose any days over the course of the summer.

Days do not need to be consecutive or chosen in weekly increments.

Please note there is a 5-day minimum enrollment and advance registration is required.

2020 Camp Dates and Hours
June 15, 2020 – August 28, 2020
9:00am – 3:00pm, Monday – Friday
Morning Early Care is available starting at 8:30pm and can be added during registration. Afternoon Extended Care is available until 5:30pm through the Club Childcare Services department.

Transportation (optional)
Roundtrip $22 per day per child
One-Way $14 per day per child

Lunch (included)
All JC Beach Camp registrations include a child friendly, lunch buffet offered through the Club restaurant.

How to Enroll

On-Line Registration System
Our on-line registration system is password protected and each child will need a password to enroll through the system.

All charges for both members and sponsored guests will be transferred to the Jonathan Club member’s billing statement (please see Payment/Billing Process section below).

With the ease of an on-line system, both members and guests will have immediate access to their child’s schedule where they can add or move days as needed.

Both members and guests will receive a receipt with the initial reservation total as well as each schedule change made thereafter.

Member Registration
Our on-line registration system is password protected and each child will need a password to enroll.

To begin the registration process, please email us at email hidden; JavaScript is required with your member name, member number, and how many member children you would like to enroll.

We will then issue the corresponding member-level passwords so that you may register your children.

Sponsored Guests
Each member may sponsor two guest families (this can include multiple children per family).

The member does not need to have children attending the camp in order to sponsor guest families.

Please note that all camp fees incurred by guests will be billed directly to the member account statement, therefore, all guests enrollments need to be initiated by the sponsoring member.

Passwords will not be issued directly to guests.

To begin the guest registration process, please have the sponsoring member email us at email hidden; JavaScript is required with their member name, member number, and the guest information (parent name and guest children who will be enrolling).

We will then issue the corresponding guest-level passwords and enrollment instructions.

Scheduling Policies

Absences and Make-Up Days
Subject to camp availability, each camper is entitled to make-up days for days missed according to the following schedule: one (1) make-up day with the purchase of five (5) paid days; two (2) make-up days with the purchase of ten (10) paid days; and one (1) additional make-up day with the purchase of each additional five (5) paid days thereafter.

There are no make-up days eligible for campers with fewer than five (5) paid days.

Make-up days are not guaranteed and must be scheduled through the camp office (310-967-7745 or email hidden; JavaScript is required) at least 24 hours in advance.

If a make-up day is scheduled and subsequently missed, it may not be rescheduled a second time.

No refunds are given for days missed.

Make-up/missed days do not carry over to future camp seasons.

Schedule/Date Changes
Reserved camp dates may be rescheduled at no additional charge, but must be made either through the self-service online system by 11:59pm the day preceding the originally scheduled event or via email request (email hidden; JavaScript is required) no later than 5pm (Pacific Time) of the business day preceding the originally scheduled event.

Changes made after that time will result in a missed day and may or may not be eligible for a make-up day.

Schedule/date changes made after the 1 week/7 day cancellation cutoff date may not result in fewer days than the original reservation.

Cancellation/Refund Policy
Cancelations (reducing camp days or transportation options) must be made a full 7 calendar days in advance of the scheduled camp day to be eligible for refund or a balance reduction.

There are no refunds or balance reductions given for missed days of camp or for cancelations made with less than the 7 calendar day notice requirement.

Payment/Billing Process
For members and sponsored guests, all charges for camp will be transferred and billed on the member’s monthly statement after services are rendered.

Please note, however, that all scheduled dates, irregardless of camp attendance, will be billed if not moved or canceled prior to the cutoff times listed above.
