Discover the FBS Family
Since 2000, Fitness by the Sea has been dedicated to enriching children’s lives through the camp experience. Each director is a camp expert in his or her own right. Together, they drive the spirit of FBS and are leaders in Southern California in the field of day camps.
More than just a team, FBS is a family. Our leadership is dedicated year-round to enhancing the camp experience, always looking for ways to innovate while preserving the core values that make FBS unique. We live and breathe camp, constantly evolving to meet the needs of today’s kids while staying true to the traditions that make it so special. With a deep understanding of what makes our camp so magical, our leadership is committed to preserving and passing that experience on for generations to come.
ERIC COLTON

Eric has also played an active role in the American Camping Association, serving on several committees with camp owners across the country to address key issues related to summer camp employment, career development, and the evolving needs of parents and children. These discussions have included writing blogs and articles for ACA media, helping shape the future of the industry. His expertise in the dynamics of camp life—ranging from camper relationships to staff management to parent communication—has earned him recognition as an innovator in kids’ day camps. Eric is the proud owner and director of Fitness by the Sea, where he oversees the Santa Monica location and continues to create unforgettable camp experiences.
ALEX DUTILEUX

Known for her infectious enthusiasm, Alex balances a playful spirit with a strong, safety-focused leadership style. Her commitment to ensuring a fun yet safe environment for campers and staff alike is at the heart of her work. Outside of camp, Alex is deeply connected to the beach and ocean life—her husband, a county lifeguard, can often be found surfing with their daughter right next to camp. Loved by everyone in the FBS community, Alex’s warm and vibrant personality makes her an invaluable leader.
MOLLY TOMLIN

While studying at UC Berkeley, Molly spent her summers as an MC at FBS, always returning to the camp that felt like home. Even after graduating and starting a corporate career, Molly’s heart remained with FBS, drawing her back year after year. Over the course of five summers, she has served in a variety of locations and roles: from counselor and MC to Assistant Director. Today, Molly is the Director at the Jonathan Club location, where she continues to create a space where kids can thrive, feel accepted, and experience the magic of camp.
